Not Without Thelma

Love this.

Writes With Pencils

Resilience is over-rated,

hope and courage are as well.

They’re my strengths, I’ve been told

but sometimes I’d rather trade them in

for a vintage pink convertible

and drive off, into the sunset

and over the canyon’s edge

á la Thelma and Louise.

According to the New York Times

that was a buddy film

full of thrilling, life-affirming energy.

The reviewer praised director Scott

for its exuberant comedy.

Did the critic leave before the final scene?

Or did she think that suicide

if done in pairs, a happy ending made?
